These lions have merely been forced out of their home range for lack of proper habitat and food sources. Mountain lions traditionally called Missouri home and i for one am glad to see them making a comeback. There is no proof they are mating in Missouri yet, so therefore as of right now there is not a breeding population. Many people are horrified at the whole concept of them being in Missouri at all and kill them on sight. Four mountain lions have been sighted in the past month, and two of them have been shot. One was shot in Richmond Missouri just south of where I live, by some raccoon hunters who treed it with their dogs. They lied and said a farmer friend shot it because it was attacking his cattle. It was after the investigation started that they admitted the truth. They claimed they felt in fear for their lives. In my opinion if the dogs have the creature treed it poses very little threat. It was a afraid and trying to avoid the dogs and the people. The second one was shot near St. Louis by coyote hunters, who also claimed they were in fear of their lives. To me it is a shame that these animals are being persecuted before they can become established.

One of my favorite examples of a stupid lawsuit was the woman who sued McDonald's for serving coffee so hot it burned her, on what planet is she living on that a cup of hot coffee is not served hot? Seriously!

I take personal responsibility for my own stupidity. If I take a stupid risk and get hurt then it is my own stupid fault, no one elses...whatever happened to that philosophy?Shelly Coxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367843308248195970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4461221580583652638.post-62508344561259587232011-02-01T08:28:10.190-08:002011-02-01T08:28:10.190-08:00Interesting commentary.
